Harness: Pink Distance

$19.99 $45.00

Our Howling Dog Alaska Distance Harness is our best seller, and its here in pink!

This is a well padded, durable harness, suitable for anything from biking, canicross, hiking and skijoring. The dog's pull force becomes more evenly distributed.

This is a shoulder style harness, there is no pressure on your dogs hips! This harness will eliminate crabbing in your dog as well, leading to les ankle and shoulder injuries. This is an ideal harness for sledding with multiple dogs. Use of this harness without a neckline means the dogs haev more freedom to pull where they need to on the trail.

Howling Dog Alaska really made an awesome shoulder style harness, which stands out from the pack. The harnes is designed to rotate, and move with the dogs body. Unlike other shoulder style harnesses out there, a properly fitted Distance harness will not shift and put pressure on your dogs windpipe. This is due to the middle strap being sewn in so that is free to float and rotate properly on the dogs body, without moving the neck peice at all.

For proper harness fit measure the dog's neck circumference half way between the usual collar position and shoulder blades. Not sure about size? Go by the weight of your dog.

Want to know what the Why the Distance Harness is the BEST harness for Skjoring: From the Howling Dog Website:

The Distance Harness works better for skijoring than the standard sled dog harness. The line angle between the dog and the skijorer (or biker, runner) is steeper than the line angle between a dog team and a sled. When a skijoring line is connected to a typical x-back harness, the steeper angle might cause a lifting force on the harness. The design of the Distance Harness creates a flatter line angle and the dog’s pull force is more evenly distributed.

For proper harness fit measure the dog's neck circumference half way between the usual collar position and shoulder blades. Not sure about size? Go by the weight of your dog.
